What is Travel With Mac?

Travel With Mac is a boutique travel company specializing in luxury, culturally immersive, and thoughtfully curated travel experiences, with a strong focus on Africa and the African diaspora.

Our trips are designed to foster deeper connection—to place, people, and purpose—while supporting local communities and trusted partners on the ground.

Are Travel With Mac trips considered luxury?

Yes—however, our definition of luxury is intentional, experiential, and culturally grounded. Luxury may look different from country to country, but always reflects:

  • Thoughtful planning and pacing
  • High-quality accommodations and partners
  • Exclusive access and private experiences
  • Authentic cultural connection

Are Group Trips suitable for children?

No. Standard group trips are adults-only. Children are welcome only on private trips that are specifically designed for families.

Are flights included?

No. Every traveler is responsible for their own airfare to and from all destinations. We however work with you to secure the best flight deals for your travel dates.

How do payments work?

  • Trip pricing is divided into even monthly payments, unless paid in full
  • The final balance is due 30 days prior to departure
  • Payments are accepted via Zelle and major credit or debit cards
  • Your first payment is a non-refundable deposit per traveler, securing your space

Are deposits and payments refundable?

After the 48-hour grace period, all payments are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect your investment.

What happens if I’m unable to travel?

If you are unable to travel:

  • You may reschedule one time within one year, during the same seasonal period, subject to availability
  • If rescheduling into a peak or higher-priced season, you will be responsible for the rate difference
  • Travel deferred beyond one year requires filing a claim with your insurance provider and booking a new trip at current market rates

Is travel insurance required?

Yes. All travelers must carry Travel Medical Insurance that includes:

  • Emergency medical coverage
  • Emergency medical evaluation
  • Repatriation of remains
  • Authentic cultural connection

Proof of insurance is required 14 days prior to departure.

What can I expect on a Travel With Mac trip?

Travel with an open mind and a spirit of curiosity. Each destination has its own rhythm, culture, and standards. Experiences in one country may differ from those in another—and that contrast is part of the beauty of global travel. Every journey is thoughtfully curated to reflect the destination itself.

Will I receive a packing list?

Yes. A detailed, destination-specific packing list will be sent prior to departure, tailored to climate, activities, cultural considerations, and travel style.

How will Travel With Mac communicate with me?

Important trip information is shared via:

  • Itineraries and pre-departure updates

Who do I contact if something comes up during the trip?

Your on-the-ground team is your first point of contact during the journey and is best positioned to address issues quickly.

What happens if Travel With Mac needs to adjust or reschedule a trip?

In rare circumstances beyond our control, adjustments may be required. When possible, trips are rescheduled thoughtfully. Travel insurance is the primary means of financial protection in these situations.
